ORANKA fruit nectar with stevia is an innovative and award-winning fruit drink in the wide range of products from Wolfgang Jobmann GmbH. Like all other ORANKA beverage concentrates, this nectar stands for a particularly fruity and refreshing drinking pleasure – however, compared to conventional nectars from other manufacturers, with significantly fewer calories and a higher fruit content of at least 55%.
In ORANKA fruit nectar with stevia, the stevia extract replaces 100% of the conventional sweetener mixture previously used. 100 ml of ORANKA fruit nectar with stevia, therefore, contains only about 25 calories. For comparison: a commercially available nectar sweetened with sugar contains about 50 calories per 100 ml. If you want to save calories even more consciously, you can alternatively reach for the fruity ORANKA 1+19 vitamin C and zinc plus C fruit drink concentrates, which have been awarded the DLG gold medal many times.
The stevia plant originates from Paraguay and is descended from the same botanical family as chrysanthemums. It has been cultivated in South America for centuries and is used as a sweetener in food and beverages.
The purified extracts from stevia leaves can be up to 350 times sweeter than sugar and are completely calorie-free.
Just as in the extraction of sugar from sugar cane or sugar beet, there is no chemical alteration of the substances, but the steviol glycosides are dissolved out of the dried stevia leaves and purified.
This is done, as with sugar, until the stevia extract is more than 95 % pure through repeated crystallisation.
Stevia extract, like all sweeteners legally permitted in the EU, has been extensively tested scientifically for use in beverages and foods and has been judged to be completely safe. And just like the classic ORANKA beverage concentrates, ORANKA nectar with stevia contains lots of fruit and, according to the law, no added preservatives.
Fruit nectars are a welcome alternative to fruit juice or soft drinks. Depending on the type of fruit, they contain at least 25 to 50 per cent fruit, as well as water and possibly sugar or a sweetener. The minimum contents are specified in the fruit juice and soft drinks ordinance. Colourings and preservatives may not be used in fruit nectars.
